Dr. Julie Chang

Dr. Julie Chang brings a unique blend of art and dentistry to Kennebec Dental Excellence. Once an aspiring artist in New York, she began her journey toward dentistry during a figure drawing class at Wellesley college in 2013. There, she became fascinated by anatomy which fueled a passion for dentistry.

Dr. Chang pursued her dental education at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. Following dental school, she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program at Togus VA Hospital. During her residency, she provided care for medically compromised veterans and gained extensive experience in various dental procedures, including dentures, surgeries, implants, root canals, and advanced restorative rehabilitation.

During her time away from the hustle and bustle of city life, Dr. Chang fell in love with Maine’s serene landscapes and welcoming community. She is thrilled to call Maine her new home and to contribute to the local community.

Dr. Chang focuses on making dental care easier for her patients by personalizing treatment, and providing stress-free comprehensive dental care. She is committed to high-quality care combined with a positive experience. A lifelong student, she regularly pursues advanced training in root canals, implants, and molar extractions.

In her free time, Dr. Chang is a reptile enthusiast. She has over 10 different species of geckos at home and often attends local reptile
shows. Additionally, she is excited to explore gardening and homesteading, and would appreciate any tips.
